Streamline employee onboarding by accessing and completing payroll profiles efficiently in Check Console.

Overview

This article explains how Console administrators can access the employee onboarding link and outlines the steps employees complete during onboarding.

What is employee onboarding?

Employee onboarding at Check ensures each employer associated with our Partners has all the necessary employee information before processing the employee's first paycheck.

Each Partner might differ in how they collect the required information for a complete employee payroll profile. Check provides an employee onboarding component to streamline this process.

The initial step involves creating an employee profile. Administrators can do this either by selecting Add Employee in the Employee section of Check Console or via the Partner's user interface through the API.

Accessing the employee onboarding link in Check Console

  1. From Companies, select the company and click on the Employees tab, scroll to the employee's name that needs the employee onboarding link to access the employee's profile.

  1. Once the employee's profile has loaded, select the button + Generate Onboard Link. Copy the link and share as needed for the employee to complete onboarding steps.

Employee onboarding steps

1. When employees click on their onboarding link, they will have three sections to verify and complete. The first section is Personal Info. Employees should review the data that has been entered and update as needed. After the employee has reviewed, they can move onto the next section by clicking on Payment method.

2. Employees can complete the Payment method section by either manually entering their routing and account numbers or by selection the option to Connect via Plaid. Once payment information has been entered, employees can click on Tax withholding to complete the final section of employee onboarding.

3. Employees can click on the arrows for each applicable tax requiring employee inputs. Once inputs are completed, employees will have the ability to review and Sign and Submit. Once all tax forms are complete, employees can click on Continue to finalize setup of their employee payroll profile.
