What is a New York Withholding Tax EFT PIN?
The New York Department of Taxation and Finance requires certain businesses to register for the PrompTax program, which assigns a 6-digit PIN for submitting ACH Credit tax payments.
Who is assigned a PIN?
Businesses in New York with a tax liability of over $100,000 in the prior year must register for a PrompTax PIN. The NY Department of Taxation and Finance will notify the company if they're required to register for a PIN.
What if the company doesn't need a PIN?
If the company did not have tax liability greater than $100,000 in the last year and is not required to register with PrompTax, please enter the company's FEIN in lieu of a PIN.
