Introduce Setup + Implementation category for onboarding guidance with 12‑hour SLA.
New Zendesk Support Request Category
To make it easier to get guidance throughout company onboarding and implementation, we're introducing a new support request category called Setup + Implementation.
Use Setup + Implementation when you need guidance while onboarding a company or have setup questions that don't require immediate action. Requests submitted under this category have a 12 business hour resolution SLA.
If a company is actively blocked from launching or processing payroll due to a setup issue, please continue using Go Live Blocker, which remains our expedited path for urgent implementation issues.
Request category | Resolution SLA | Best used for |
Setup + Implementation | 12 business hours | Onboarding guidance, setup assistance, implementation questions that don’t require immediate action. |
Go Live Blocker | 2 business hours | A setup issue is putting an upcoming payroll or go-live timeline at risk, and immediate assistance is needed to avoid missing a payroll deadline. |
This new request category makes it easier to distinguish between implementation guidance and time-sensitive launch issues, helping ensure routine setup questions are handled efficiently while preserving expedited support for payroll-critical blockers.
Reminder: New Filing Blocker
This week, we released a new filing blocker reason, collection_failed, in the Tax Filings API, Console, and Blocked Filings Report.
This blocker can be applied to filings where the agency requires tax payments to happen at the same time as tax filing and do not allow partially paying the amount due. If the employer has any failed payroll debits or other collections, Check will block the filing until the failed collection is resolved to ensure full payment at the time of filing.
The new collection_failed will make it clearer what direct action is required to unblock the filing and will include the payment ID as a resource to know which transaction needs to be retried. This is replacing the missing_tax_funds blocker, which will be retired and bulk resolved across all filings later in July.
You can review the associated resource and resolution path in our API documentation.
