You can now view amendments in pending or blocked states in Console under the Filings tab, just like original filings. Previously, an amendment was only visible once it was submitted or filed.

These amendments will appear in Console as soon as the associated correction is approved and any scheduled transactions (if needed) have occurred. You can manage blockers on an amendment the same way you already can for original filings.

In the coming weeks, we'll expose the same set of pending and blocked amendments in the Tax Filings API.

Earlier this year, we paused amendment filing fees. Those fees will resume as normal for amendments filed on or after August 1, 2026. These will first appear on your August usage invoice, sent at the beginning of September.

We will continue to waive fees on amendments resulting from correction tickets opened before July 1, 2026, regardless of when they are filed.

We're introducing a new required form, Form C-42 (Written Authorization / TWC POA), for companies running payroll in Texas. It authorizes Check to act as the company's agent with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) for Texas State Unemployment Tax (SUI) filing and payment.

Why we need it: The Texas Workforce Commission will require employer-assigned third party agent (TPA) access starting with tax returns due January 2027. Collecting Form C-42 now lets us do a bulk TPA authorization for Texas ourselves, reducing the lift for employers versus the TPA steps they'd otherwise have to complete on their own in Q4. Status behavior: Starting Monday, August 3rd, any net-new Texas SUI election will instead be Blocking and payroll can't run until the form is completed. All existing employers with a Texas SUI election will show a Needs Attention status until the form is completed.

We recommend reaching out to your customers now to get Form C-42 signed as soon as possible. The deadline for submitting the form to Check is August 26.
