Implement lenient reopen deadlines for payrolls and update failed funding policies effective July 24, 2025.
Upcoming Change: More Lenient Reopen Deadlines
In Sandbox, payrolls that are approved before their approval deadline day are now allowed to be reopened up until 11am ET on their approval deadline day. This change will be enabled in Production next week on Thursday, July 24th, 2025.
Today, when a payroll is approved, it can only be reopened up for 1 hour, after which it becomes locked for processing. With this change, payrolls will instead only be locked for processing at 11am ET on their approval deadline day if they are approved before that time, and will remain in pending status and be able to reopened until then.
There are no changes to payrolls approved after 11am ET on their approval deadline day. After 11am ET, payrolls can be only reopened for 1 hour until the approval deadline for the payroll.
Failed Fundings Impact on In-Flight Payrolls
Our updated policy for when and how failed fundings impact processing of other in-flight payrolls for a company, which was announced in last week’s release notes, has gone into effect as of today.
This policy is documented in Failed Funding Guide in the Help Center. As a reminder, this policy is only applicable to Standard Risk Tier partners, per our Credit policies.
