Enhance quarter-end transparency with improved balancing for Texas State Unemployment Insurance.

Improved quarter end balancing for Texas

At every quarter end, we run a process called balancing to ensure your customers’ taxable wages and tax amounts align with agency rules. This helps drive accurate filings and tax payments, and can result in variance refunds or collections. While these variances have been visible, the details behind them haven’t, leaving customers in the dark about what changed.

We’re beginning to change that—starting with an alpha for Texas State Unemployment Insurance.

Starting the week of July 7, you’ll see a new balancing payroll type in Console and the Payrolls API. This payroll includes changes to Texas taxable wages and tax amounts, with clear visibility at both the tax and employee level.

This is just the first step. We’ll expand this visibility across all states over time as part of our broader push to make quarter end more efficient and transparent.
