Partner-To-Partner: Extraction and Required Data Guide
Extract and format partner payroll data to streamline onboarding and termination processes.
A partner-to-partner transfer (“P2P”) typically occurs when a customer running payroll with one Check partner switches to a different Check partner.
Partner A (Old) - Partner who is losing the customer. Partner B (New) - Partner who is gaining the customer.
P2P transfers will surface in Console once FEIN is entered on Partner B. This error means the company is running or active at another one of Check’s Partners.

Partner B will not be blocked on completing onboarding until the Activation step. Client needs to terminate with Partner A once last payroll is submitted.
Recommended that client notifies Partner A at the beginning on onboarding process with their intent and last check date.

Termination of Partner A
Once all onboarding is completed client will need to notify Partner A of their termination of Payroll services. Once Partner A terminates company in Console the Action Required will be removed and Partner B will be able to Confirm and Submit under the Payroll Setup tab to complete onboarding.
If termination cannot be provided, we can accept an attestation with the following language:
To whom it may concern,
I authorize Check, payroll partner for [Partner B], to terminate [Partner A] as payroll provider for [company]. [Partner A]'s final filing quarter will be [Quarter/Year] (e.g., Q1 2026).
Sincerely,
