How to request a production API key
Request prerequisites for obtaining a Check production API key to avoid launch delays.
The following are prerequisites that partners must address to gain access to a Check production API key. Please get started on these items as soon as possible to avoid potential launch delays.

Partner Review | Complete Partner Due Diligence ASAP. Check is required to collect information to maintain compliance and fulfill our requirements as a money transmitter. You will be given instructions to complete reviews when kicking off with Check.*We cannot provide a production API key until the information has been provided and reviewed. *Please allow 1-2 weeks after submission for review to be completed by Check Legal, Risk, and Security teams |
Communications | Fill out Check's Partner Contact Form to ensure all other communications are directed appropriately to your team. These questions to ensure that Check has correct billing, security, and support contact information. Addressing this form is a prerequisite for production launch.

Product Review | Please generate demo credentials to a sandbox environment of your payroll product and send to us via ZenDesk. This allows Check to conduct product reviews and provide any feedback prior to launch. Take a look at link to know exactly what aspects of your product we are reviewing.*Please allow 1-2 weeks after submission for review to be completed by Check team. *Note that there may be feedback that must be implemented prior to launch that is identified as a part of this process. |
If using Embedded Setup, data synchronization implementation | Embedded Setup is a service in which Check’s team of payroll experts take on the difficult parts of switching payroll providers, including all data migration, auditing and balancing, to seamlessly and accurately get employers ready to power their next payroll on your platform.
*Please refer to this guide which walks through the data synchronization requirements that you and your team will need to meet to effectively leverage Embedded Setup. Implementing data synchronization requirements is a prerequisite to accessing a production API key. |
