Add Internal Users to Check Console
Add internal users to Check Console and manage their roles and permissions effectively.
Here are the steps to add internal users to Console:
- Navigate to Check console > Settings
- Click โAdd Userโ

- Fill requested information > Select user permissions > Click โSave Userโ

- User will receive welcome email with instructions:

What to do when your welcome email link expires:
If your welcome email link expires, head to https://console.checkhq.com/password-reset and reset your password. This should allow you to get back into Console. If you have any further issues, reach out to Check Support by submitting a ticket in our Help Center.
User Roles & Permissions
When adding a new user, youโll need to assign them a user role. There are two user types available:
Standard User
Standard users have access to perform most day-to-day functions in Console, including:
- Accessing and editing company information
- Modifying objects and configurations
- Running payroll
Admin User
Admin users have all the permissions of standard users, plus the ability to:
- Access additional tabs in Console:
- Reports
- Access to all cross-company & partner-level reports (e.g., failed funding, QE variance, usage summary)
- Developer
- Check API logs & Webhook logs
- List of API keys
- Settings
- Add new users
- Create and manage user groups
- Access console activity logs for audit trails
- View sensitive data* (unmasked bank account numbers and unmasked SSNs) & setup documents
Make sure to assign the appropriate role based on what level of access and control the user needs.
*Access to sensitive data requires the Sensitive Data API is enabled
Adding Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
New Console Users will be asked to set up a Multi-Factor Authenticator, this can be done directly upon the first time logging in by scanning a QR code with an authenticator app, or password storage app. Once MFA is set up, it will be required every time a User logs into Console.
Once a User has added MFA, it will be visible in the Users page under Settings. The "Has MFA" will either show "Yes" or "No" for all Users. We recommend everyone set MFA up when first logging in.

MFA Issues
If a user has trouble logging in, or needs to reset their MFA, they can do so by submitting a Support request to Check. Since the User will likely not have access to Console to submit a ticket, they can do so by sending an email directly to support@checkhq.com and asking to have their MFA disabled.
